Christian & Timbers is pleased to announce the appointment of Dael Williamson as Chief Technology and Platform Officer at PhysicsX.
PhysicsX builds physics AI models and an engineering platform for industrial companies. The company announced Dael’s appointment on October 1, 2026, following its $300 million Series C.
The Mandate
With new capital behind it, PhysicsX set out to take its platform across more of the engineering lifecycle and into more applications inside customer organizations. Its models were handling more complex physics, and customers were asking to use them more widely.
The role called for someone who had built technology from first principles and had also grown products inside large enterprise organizations. The new leader would work closely with PhysicsX’s Product leadership as the platform evolved.
The Candidate
Dael Williamson began as a full-stack engineer and data scientist, and he is a published researcher in protein molecular modeling.
He joins PhysicsX from Databricks, where he served as EMEA CTO. He scaled fast-growing product lines including Lakeflow, AgentBricks, and Lakebase, and coauthored research on supply chain digital twins. Earlier in his career he held senior technology leadership roles at Accenture’s Microsoft Business Group and at Avanade.
His protein modeling research gave Dael a grounding in computational science, and Databricks added experience bringing enterprise technology to large organizations. PhysicsX needs both as it brings physics AI into more engineering applications.
The Outcome
At PhysicsX, Dael will focus on accelerating product development and expanding the platform’s core capabilities. He will also help shape the technical organization behind the platform.
